DJ Charlie the Slut was working regularly in NYC’s clubland for nearly 9 years.  Like DJ Daniel and DJ Jason, DJ Charlie the Slut enjoyed a credible popularity with the most serious fans of the genre during the busiest time period for Goth in NYC.  Also, he produced many of his own parties.

DJ Charlie the Slut started promoting and DJing Sanctuary Thursdays in Park Slope, Brooklyn in 1997. Sanctuary (in a venue with the same name) Thursdays was Brooklyn’s first successful goth event. Sanctuary sometimes had theme nights and other features such as guest DJs, DJ Dan Ph0beus, DJ Marc Sane, DJ Vanessa, DJ Jason and others, but it was mostly DJ Charlie the Slut spinning each Thursday to a specific “anti-Vampyre” goth rock crowd.

DJ Charlie the Slut also replaced DJ Daniel as a resident DJ for Dale and Laura’s Exedor Saturdays party at The Pyramid (after it had left two other famous NYC nightclubs, The Bank and Coney Island High).

DJ Charlie the Slut later spun with DJ Jason for the popular Classic Goth night, Wasteland (formerly of Coney Island High), when it moved to The Pyramid‘s basement below DJ Ash‘s New Wave/Synthpop Re:Mission party.

DJ Charlie the Slut is probably best known for his spearheading of NYC’s Death Rock revival movement with his later underground events, Murder (at the Raven Cafe), Straightjacket (at Bellevue) and R.I.P-Tide (at Korova Milk Bar).  He spun the earliest Drop Dead Promotions and at CBGBs for many of Steve Mach’s Action Cat Productions live shows.  Well trusted and competent, DJ Charlie the Slut also sometimes DJed at Alchemy while DJ Jason was traveling.

Recently (2010), DJ Charlie the Slut produced a Sanctuary Reunion at Lucky 13 Saloon.
