The Record Room… A new and upcoming vinyl record store in the heart of Harefield, a quaint and very picturesque village on the outskirts of West London has been operating for over a year, situated inside the ‘Pheonix Collectables’ on the High Street… The youthful and lovely Nicole Hennel first opened the doors of ‘The Record Room’ to the public in April last year (2025)… Both her love of music and large vinyl record collection led her to this fabulous opportunity in Harefield… “A dream come true for this young lass” as she says herself… This record store not only caters for all genres of music, from new wave to classic rock, from goth to 80’s, from punk to synth pop, just to name a few, it also sells used guitars, amplifiers, guitar pedals, accessories and various music gadgets and collectors memorabilia… From used vinyl to new releases this record store has it all for music fans… Its oldest vinyl in the store to date is from as far back as 1952… Nicole believes strongly that despite the digital world we are living in there is a massive vinyl revival happening at the moment with her clientele ranging from teenagers (even as young as 16) to over 60 years of age… Best part of owning a record store for Nicole is when music fans bring in their vinyl record collection… their entire music life history… Her ambition is to sell vinyl to someone famous and open a second record store in the next five years… Despite her youth Nicole believes that AI generated music is not fair on musicians who struggle to stay afloat, especially smaller bands… More venues and accessibility for these bands to perform and sell their merchandise is something this young lady strives for… Social media is a means to showcase one’s music but not enough… No AI can depict the articulate artwork on any vinyl record sleeve in her eyes… Sadly not many record stores exist nowadays but the ones that do are all unique in their own way… The Record Room is no exception to this… Recommended by Absolution… By Tzina Dovve (DJ Lady Davinia)…
