Luis Alberto Huby Flores, DJ Chuby 242 was born in the middle of 70’s during the military regime that ruled in his hometown of Lima, Peru. During his early teens, he started listening to music that came particularly from England and the UK. The first bands that caught his attention instantly were Depeche Mode, Softcell, OMD, and New Order because of their distinctive sound.

The Cure, U2, the Clash, Indochine and Soda Stereo were the bearers of the new wave movement in Lima. But over time he was seduced by bands like The Smiths, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen and Killing Joke, which were later acknowledged as post-punk bands.

It wasn’t until 1988 where a tape from a Belgian band named Front 242 got into his hands. It was then that his passion for this great band and the abrasive, aggressive sounds of EBM (electronic body music) started and has never ceased up to this day.

He was resident DJ in Lima for several clubs and bars such as Brujos, Elyria, Bash Bar and guest DJ in Vampiros, Noctulus, Tekendama. He spun the best in New Wave, EBM, Spanish Avant-garde Rock and Synthpop.

From 2005-2008 he was part of the Fallen Angel Productions crew (Peru) and was a chief Press of that promoter company. He Promoted and DJed at the concert-parties in Lima, for the following bands:

  • And One
  • Nitzer Ebb
  • Aviador Dro
  • Hocico
  • Lamia
  • Elegant Machinery

DJ Chuby 242 is currently a producer and DJ for ParalisisNYC with his brother, DJ Raymi7.
